submission deadline for PT 2008 education sessions and preconference courses is
July 25. PT 2007 was a great success. Don?t let your members miss the
opportunity to be part of PT 2008! Submit a proposal for a 90-minute or 3-hour
education session or an all-day preconference course. PT 2008: APTA?s Annual
Conference & Exposition will be held from June 11-14, 2008, in San Antonio,
Texas. All proposals must be submitted online at

Clinical Education Standards Conference Due August 3</b><br />In response to
Goal 1 of the Education Strategic Plan to develop standards in clinical
education, the Education Department is planning a consensus-based conference
December 13-15 on physical therapist professional Clinical Education Standards.
This conference will include 30 participants from a variety of stakeholder
groups. Issues that this conference hopes to address in clinical education
include qualifications/criteria for clinical educators (including APTA
membership, CI Education Credentialing, residents, other health professionals
as CIs), qualifications/criteria for clinical sites (including accreditation),
academic program and clinical site infrastructure required for clinical
education (including partnerships, placements, expectations for the program and
for the clinical site, communication, structure for the learning experience),
financing clinical education, and clinical education models (including
licensure issues). We are inviting nominations for the identified stakeholders
for this conference and invite your members to complete a nomination form at

to jodygandy@apta.org no later than August 3.<br /><br /><b> SACE Applications
Due August 17</b><br />The American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties
(ABPTS) is accepting applications for appointment to the Specialization Academy
of Content Experts (SACE). SACE was established to create a pool of certified
specialists and content experts to write items for the specialist certification
examinations. Newly appointed members of SACE are required to attend an
item-writing workshop, which will be conducted by the National Board of Medical
Examiners (NBME) at the 2008Combined Sections Meeting in Nashville. SACE
appointments are for 2-year terms beginning January 1, 2008. Board-certified
specialists and individuals who are content experts in one of the following
practice areas are eligible for appointment: Cardiovascular and Pulmonary,
Clinical Electrophysiologic, Geriatric, Neurologic, Orthopaedic, Pediatric,
Sports, and Women?s Health Physical Therapy. The deadline for submitting
applications is August 17. For more information about the program and to
