I am currently the Idhao State FUNFitness coordinator for Healthy Athletes, through Special Olympics, which is a program that provides musculoskeletal screenings for Special Olympics participants. We are gearing up for World Games in 2009 with an Invitational in February of 2008. I am currently seeking volunteers willing to help perform these musculoskeletal screens on Feb. 26th and 27th. I do not have specific times yet as they are still TBA. However if this is something that you would be interested in please fill out an online application form at www.idso.org click on volunteer at the top right, in the next screen, in the text at the bottom of the page there is a link to the application. Please check the Healthy Athletes box and in the comments write FUNFitness. Please also send me an email with your name and the dates and times you might be available so that I can start working on appropriate scheduling. Thank you for your help. The Long Term Care Quality & Modernization Act of 2007 (HR 4082) extends the exceptions process for the caps, which limit outpatient coverage to $1,780 for physical therapy and speech-language pathology combined and $1,780 for occupational therapy. The caps, which will take effect at the end of the year unless Congress steps in, reduce patients' choice of providers, require them to pay out-of-pocket for necessary treatment, and delay care. Further, studies show that the caps discriminate against the most vulnerable Medicare beneficiaries, such as those who have had a stroke, amputation, or multiple disabilities. ? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... I have more information regarding Special Olympics that I need to pass on to everybody. At our conference call last Friday we did set definite days and times for screening athletes. They are as follows: Monday February 25th 7AM-2PM Tuesday February 26th 7AM-11AM and 4PM-8PM Wednesday February 27th 7AM-11AM and 4PM to 8PM There is also a volunteer commitment that we are asking for of at least 2 four-hour blocks of time, or helping the entire session on the 25th. The reason for this is that as a volunteer you will be given a uniform that will consist of a jacket and vest and sweat pants I believe, as well as we pay for food and travel. What this means is that for every volunteer we will be spending approximately $200. Because of this we are asking for a large commitment to minimize the overall number of volunteers needed. I know that this will put a cramp in availability but I appreciate those of you who truly want to help and are able to adjust your schedule accordingly. I also need to correct some information that I gave that was incorrect. I asked you to fill out a form on the Idaho Special Olympics site and you actually need to fill out the form on the World Games site. That address is www.2009worldgames.org It is a very short application. Please state on the application that you are a therapist OT or PT and that will automatically flag your application to come to me. Thanks again and should you have any questions please feel free to email me at ssmith at ierh.org or contact me at 899-3723. Claims that only contain legacy numbers in the billing, pay-to, or rendering fields will be rejected or returned, according to a recent announcement by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services?(CMS). CMS cited successful transition to the NPI as cause for the next step in implementing the 10-digit numeric identifier. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
