Dear IPTA Member,
I apologize for the influx of unwanted emails thru IPTA's list
service. The problem was caused by those wanting to unsubscribe
replying to the list serve rather than going to the bottom of the
email and unsubscribing there. If you wish to respond to the entire
list, you can use the reply button. If you wish to reply only to the
person sending the original e-mail, you need to cut and paste the
address. To unsubscribe, go to the bottom of this email.
Below are some items that may be of interest. Thanks for hanging in
as we get this list service functional.

Opportunity to Test Billing and PQRI Reporting: Deadline to
Register for PQRI Call Is Wednesday
Physical therapists and other health care providers have the chance to
test their billing systems (at
http://www.cms.hhs.gov/PQRI/Downloads/PQRITesting.pdf) in order to
meet Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI) requirements
(http://www.cms.hhs.gov/PQRI/). A test code has been designated to
prepare health care professionals for data-code-reporting requirements
that begin July 1, 2007. Providers seeking more information on PQRI
reporting requirements can take part in the third national provider
conference call dedicated to PQRI, to be held from 1:30 to 3:00 pm EST
on Thursday, May 24. Information regarding the call is available at
http://www.cms.hhs.gov/PQRI/Downloads/Provider_Call24May07.pdf. The
call is free, but you must register at

APTA Introduces New Podcast
Physical therapy service providers can go online to hear all the
latest government affairs news affecting their practices with ?What
PTs Need to Know Now,? a new podcasting feature released this week on
the APTA Web site. To hear the informative briefing on PT issues,
narrated by APTA Vice President of Government Affairs Dave Mason,
visit the podcast Web page at
http://www.apta.org/AM/TemplateRedirect.cfm?Template=/CM/HTMLDisplay.cfm&ContentID=39558. Visitors can listen to the feed directly from their desk chairs or download it to their MP3 players and take it on the go. Please share with your legislative chairs and other members who might be
interested.
Considerations for Practice Opportunities and Professional Development
A new comprehensive resource document has been created to provide
guidance related to the assessment of practices and professional
development in the context of seeking a new or different practice or
work opportunity. Approved by the Board of Directors in March 2007,
this resource is for use by physical therapist and physical therapist
assistant students, new graduates/new hires, and licensed physical
therapists and licensed/certified physical therapist assistants. The
resource is organized into four areas: financial considerations,
professional development considerations, ethical and legal
considerations, and quality of care considerations. The questions may
be used in preparation for an interview and in teaching students about
questions to be considered when seeking a position. To access this
resource, go to
http://www.apta.org/AM/Template.cfm?Section=Professional_Resources&Template=/TaggedPage/TaggedPageDisplay.cfm&TPLID=145&ContentID=18577.
